Who qualifies
Any child who lives in Florida and turns 4 on or before September 1 of the school year. There's no income requirement — every Florida 4-year-old is eligible.
Children who turn 4 between February 2 and September 1 may wait a year and attend VPK at 5 instead.
What VPK covers
The state funds 540 instructional hours during the school year (a 300-hour summer option also exists). At Bufi, those hours are part of our regular Pre-Kindergarten day: hands-on learning, early literacy and numeracy, and social skills — in English and Spanish.
Care outside the VPK hours (early drop-off, afternoons, school holidays) is available as a paid wraparound option. Ask us for current rates.
How to enroll in VPK at Bufi
1. Apply for a VPK Certificate of Eligibility at the Florida Family Portal (familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com). You'll need your child's proof of age and proof of Florida residency.
2. Print or download the certificate — the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe issues it, usually within a few days.
3. Book a tour with us, bring the certificate, and we complete the enrollment paperwork together (immunization form 680, physical form 3040, ID).
Why families choose Bufi for VPK
Small groups and a Creative Curriculum classroom rather than a large center. Children who finish our VPK year leave fully prepared in English, with the confidence to start kindergarten — many are already reading.
We're licensed by the Florida DCF (C11MD1317), rated 5.0 on Google, and located in Doral at 3655 NW 107th Ave, minutes from Dolphin Mall.
